It is with gratitude that we recognize our presence on land held sacred by, and stolen from, the Ioway, Sauk, Meskwaki and many other Independent Nations. With deep appreciation, we celebrate Indegenous Peoples as traditional stewards of this land. With deep respect, we further acknowledge the history of genocide, exploitation and the continued residue of colonialism that soils the fabric of contemporary society. As we gather in mindfulness, we commit to continued learning and seek to understand the truth of our place in the past, present and future of this Land Between Two Rivers.
